The Town of Newmarket's Care Fund is now available. Give the gift of recreation by donating to the Care Fund today.

The Town of Newmarket aims to "Create Accessible Recreation for Everyone" by offering financial assistance to residents of all ages on any Town of Newmarket Recreation & Culture registered programs.  The objective of this program is to offer increased opportunities to those who may require financial assistance that would not otherwise be able to participate in recreation.

What programs does the CARE fund support?

The Town of Newmarket aims to "Create Accessible Recreation for Everyone" by offering financial assistance to residents of all ages on any Town of Newmarket Recreation & Culture registered programs.  The objective of the CARE Program is to offer increased opportunities to those who may require financial assistance that would not otherwise be able to participate in recreation.  Below is a sample of just some of our 200+ Recreation and Culture Registered Programs for community members of all ages:

How can I donate to CARE?

You can donate via cash, cheque to Town of Newmarket or credit card

 

Where can I make my donation?

You can donate via mail or in person at any Town of Newmarket Customer Service Kiosk. Click on the facility located below for hours of operation.


How often can I donate?

You can make a donation to the CARE fund as often as you wish as many times throughout the year you desire.


Will I receive a tax receipt?

For any donation of $20.00 Cdn or greater a charitable tax receipt  will be sent to you in the mail.


I would like to make someone aware of this program who may be eligible. Where should I direct them?

There's a few ways you can share this information with people. For those you wish to make aware of the CARE Program as possible eligible participants you can:

  1. Click here to apply to care fund
  2. If your contact does not have access to electronic communications, hard copy paper eligibility forms are available to the public at all our Town facilities.
  3. For any further inquiries they are welcome to call 905-953-5300 ext. 2612. Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30 p.m. and we'll be happy to answer any questions they may have.

Please Note: Online Submission form for Care is coming soon, check back here for updates!

Application Timing & Process:  Please be advised that due to the number of subsidy applications, the review and approval process takes 3 – 4 weeks from time of submission to process your application. We advise you apply well in advance (minimum 4 weeks) before the registration start date of the service(s) you wish to participate in. You will then be contacted by a Town Employee by either email (or phone if email is not an option) advising you of your application status. Please note that approved funding is not retroactive and therefore cannot be applied or used towards previous registrations made prior to your funding approval.


Who is eligible?
 Newmarket Residents of all ages 

  • Criteria: Submit application form and must demonstrate need for financial assistance with provision of proof of income.
  • Amount:  Eligible 10-50%

To be eligible for care applicant must be a Town of Newmarket resident and the following forms must be provided:
 

Canada Customs & Revenue Agency (CRA) Notice of Assessment (T451) for each family member that is 18 years old and over
